So, it looks like Trump has nominated Lance Schroyer, a former Oklahoma state trooper and Marine, to head up ICE. Because what could possibly go wrong with that? Schroyer has decades of experience 'locking up the worst of the worst', which is just code for 'I've spent my whole career being racist'. And hey, who better to run an immigration agency than someone who's spent their entire life locking up brown people? It's not like he'll be motivated by a desire to prove his own xenophobia or anything. Trump describes Schroyer as a 'patriot' with 'real operational experience', which is just a fancy way of saying 'he's good at hurting people'. And apparently, Schroyer LOVES the men and women of ICE, which is just creepy. He'll be partnering with his buddy Markwayne Mullin, another Oklahoman who's thrilled to be part of Trump's immigration crackdown. Because nothing says 'good government' like a bunch of white guys in law enforcement deciding who gets to stay in this country and who gets tossed out like trash. It's like the whole thing is just one big joke, except it's not funny at all.
